Haile Selassie, straight out of central casting and central wardrobe. He was a revered figure of resistance to Axis incursions in Africa, but stayed too long at the fair, and, having been overthrown, was murdered in bed.
Never knew he had made it to Hollywood! This must have been the year before Disneyland opened, so that wasn’t an issue, as it was for Nikita K a few years later. Great photo…
Every time I see your photo of Sydney Greenstreet, I wonder who the young lady behind him is. She may very well still be alive. Did she ever know she was in this photo? Has someone seen it and said “That’s Mom!”
