It’s always fun when one discovers an old movie and it turns out to be really GOOD. That was Joe’s experience with the 1946 thriller Shock, which stars Vincent Price and Lynn Bari.
The film also stars Anabel Shaw (pictured above with Price) and Frank Latimore. Shaw only made a handful of films but she’s quite good in this one as a woman who Price is trying to drive insane and eventually kill.
We won’t give away any more of the plot. Discover this little gem for yourself.
SHOCK… If anyone out there is interested, this movie is available for FREE, as it has been posted on YouTube.
Again and again, I keep repeating that YouTube is the biggest and best place to find dedicated and knowledgeable movie fans on the internet, specially when they take the time and effort to post so many remastered movies, and not just classics, but ‘gems’ like what Joe and Frank write about.
SHOCK isn’t that bad really… Just a typical ‘B’ movie filler, but the best actor in it for me was the always great character actor REED HADLEY, what a commanding and memorable voice he had.
SHOCK is a kind of a dime-store Woolworth’s gem, rather than something from Tiffany’s though.
That said, it’s still far better than the similar stuff they produce now.
