Recently we heard from one of our readers, Nancy Wiman, who’d discovered our site and loved the idea that we shared photos of classic film stars of Hollywood’s Golden Era.

Nancy told us that her late brother, Sgt. Norman Plemons, had started a collection of photos while he served in Korea in the early 1950s. She’s graciously decided to share some of those photos with us.

In those days fans, like Norman, wrote to the stars and requested photos which they often put into scrapbooks or hung in their lockers.

And stars, or sometimes their secretaries, would sign the photo. Terry Moore, then a popular pin up, as you can see, sent Sgt Plemons “Moore” best wishes.

For the next several weeks we’re going to feature pictures from Norman’s collection.
