Every film buff knows that director Alfred Hitchcock used to make cameo “walk ons” in his films.  But only Hitchcock aficionados have obsessively tracked exactly where in his movies the director would silently show himself.

Hello everybody.  Joe Morella and Frank Segers, your classic movie guys, to announce that in honor of the summer silly season, we present the crucial second part of our quiz that we published a short while back about where to find Hitchcock in his American-made films.

Ok, here at last are the answers to  our quiz.

On the left, we describe what Hitchcock is doing in 13 of his cameos.  On the right is the correct title of the movie in which it appeared.

Hitch Walk On                                                             Movie In Which It Appeared   ___________________________________________________________

Leaving a pet shop with two terriers                                     The Birds (1963)

Crossing the top of a (black & white) staircase                        I Confess (1953)

Missing a bus (just after his opening credit)               North By Northwest (1959)

Winding a clock in a songwriter’s flat                                        Rear Window (1954)

Appearing in a class reunion photo                                  Dial M For Murder (1954)

Wearing a cowboy hat outside of the victim’s office window              Psycho (1960)

Quaffing champaigne at a Claude Rains’ soiree                 Notorious (1946)

Passing Tippi Hedren in a hotel corridor                                       Marnie (1964)

Playing cards on a Santa Rose-bound train                     Shadow of a Doubt (1943)

Boarding a train lugging a double bass                        Strangers On A Train (1951)

Carrying a trumpet case while street walking                                   Vertigo (1958)

Being pushed around in an airport wheelchair                                  Topaz (1969)

Watching Moroccan acrobats                         The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956)

Again, it’s summer so we hope you had fun with our matching silliness.  One of the many pleasure of watching a Hitchcock movie is waiting and watching for the director to show up. There he is above, of course, with Kim Novak.
