It’s here again.
Parades, barbecues, picnics. Hey there’s a thought.
For this year’s fourth of July movie how about we skip Yankee Doodle Dandy, Independence Day, The Patriot, Glory and all those other obvious choices, and watch Picnic.
It’s not a classic film by any stretch of the imagination, perhaps it’s not even a good film. But it takes place on a holiday, and it stars William Holden and Kim Novak. And the script is literate. Give it a shot…
So what that the holiday in the film is Labor Day and not the Fourth of July?
